France | Academic Year Program

Boarding school (5 days)

This offer includes several boarding schools located in different regions of France, offering a safe and stimulating learning environment. 5 days courses in a boarding school and weekends/holidays with a host family.

The CEI invites you to discover a unique opportunity for international students : an enriching academic stay in a boarding school in France. This program offers total immersion in the French education system, combining academic quality with an authentic cultural experience.

5-day-boarding option

Students will be at boarding school 5 days a week except for weekends and holidays. They will be at their host family. Placements are available throughout France.

Students will spend 5 days per week at school, usually from 8:00 am until 5:00pm or 6:00pm, in classes with French classmates.

Depending on their age, students are placed in either Troisième (14-15 years old) or Seconde (15-16 years old). They typically take courses in French literature, foreign languages, history, math, economics and science. Students placed in Classe de Premiere (16-17 years old) and students placed in Classe de Terminale (17-18 years old) will be enroled in one of these academic areas : Literature, Economics, or Sciences. All classes are taught in French.

Meet and greet service

Transfer on arrival : included in the program price.
Transfer on departure (optional) : 250€, the price can be arranged upon request.

Language training option

CEI proposes 2 or 3 week-long intensive French language courses, before the beginning of the High School program. This program takes place at the CEI language school in Saint-Malo every August and in Paris every January.

This language course is specifically recommended for students who might not feel confident enough or wish to improve their language skills before participating in the Academic Year Program.

Saint-Malo : 1300€ (2 weeks), 1600€ (3 weeks)
Paris January : 1600€ (2 weeks)

Students must be between 14-18 years old (while their stay in France).

Accommodation

Accommodation in a boarding school. Weekends and holidays in a host family. Full pension.

Processing of the student application, research and selection of a French host family (interview, visit of the house and environment).
Full board in boarding school and with a host family.
Enrollment and attendance at a French secondary school, school lunches and school expenses (for private schools).
Supervision and assistance by a CEI area representative as well as by the staff of the central office.
A local orientation meeting in September and January (all program duration – the meeting can be private or attended in a group).
Transfer cost to the host community (transfer on arrival – includes the booking and purchase of the domestic train/plane ticket by CEI + CEI escort and emergency phone line on day of arrival).
